Sports and Community Facilities
for Rural East Northamptonshire
Kings Cliffe Active is an open public access community sports & resource area for Kings Cliffe and the wider community.
The ‘parent’ legal entity of Kings Cliffe Active is Kings Cliffe and Area Community Sports Project (KC&ACSP) Ltd. The Chair is Andrew Pick and the Treasurer is Adrian Urquhart. The Committee of Kings Cliffe Active which runs the site is chaired by Simon Fairhall. Contact all of these through Contact.
All the money invested in the project so far has been raised by a local team led by David Hellard and Andrew Pick and the facility is currently managed by volunteers.

The rural area between Stamford and Oundle is a vibrant one - but was lacking in modern facilities for sports, meetings and other community activities. David and Andrew - supported by other community leaders and activists, including Councillor Roger Glithero, Oundle and Kings Cliffe Middle School Deputy Head, Clare Ogden, Richard Lattimore of Kings Cliffe United Football Club and Katy Weeks, the leader of the Underground Youth Club in Kings Cliffe - decided to fill the gap. To date they have raised £1.4 million.
The site has potential for:
- Community centre/indoor leisure/club rooms
- Gym/exercise studio
- Refreshments and retail outlet
- Picnic and barbecue areas
- Use of football pitches for other sports - rugby, hockey etc
- Bowls/tennis/other sports
- Health and fitness clinic/services
- Your own ideas, for all age groups
