NEW SPORTS AND COMMUNITY FACILITIES IN KINGS CLIFFE
Latest news
Kings Cliffe Active (KCA) is for you, people of all ages in rural East Northamptonshire
and nearby areas. It is a local initiative to meet the needs for sports, healthy
living and community facilities not only for Kings Cliffe but also for the surrounding
villages and hamlets and their communities - about 5,000 to 6,000 people. Many more
people can reach leisure and sports facilities without a car or with shorter journeys.
East Northamptonshire Council leads the list of organisations which have supported
and funded KCA - full list of funders. KCA thanks all those who have contributed
ideas, advice and their time.
The infrastructure is there for the next phase, including indoor community facilities
- so keep your ideas coming in. Can it be the base for your leisure or sports club?

Kings Cliffe United Football Club (KCUFC) finally has a permanent home after 90 years of playing in farmers' fields and shared pitches. With the opening on Sunday (17th July) of a £272,000 pavilion alongside two spanking new pitches the club was made ready for the new season which kicked off with a friendly match on Saturday August 6th and the first Marshall Peterborough & District Division One league match on Saturday 13th.
The pavilion opening was celebrated with the Kings Cliffe Active Festival, which drew a huge crowd of more than 1000. Their appetite for excitement was whetted by a pinpoint accurate rapid descent to the centre of one of the new pitches by five parachutists from UK Parachuting Sibson. Lead parachutist, Mark Harris, then picked up the starter's gun to release the runners in the 3k and 5k fun runs and visitors were able to focus on a wide range of have-a-go sports and stalls.
KCUFC Chairman Richard Lattimore was really over the moon about his new pitches and pavilion: "Our new facilities are fantastic. We will expand from running nine teams to 11, starting with under-8s.
